Eggers has full control throughout. His most focused and narratively tight film to date. With greater scope, the world-building remains to be unmatched in its authenticity and verisimilitude. Nosferatu pays homage where it’s due, but Eggers’ bold vision takes it far beyond. A fiery resurrection of a classic tale.
