Dressed to Kill
— Really loved the film — the thrills and the reveal of the twist (which I will admit I could see from a mile away but that is beside the point) — So far, I've only seen Nancy Allen in RoboCop and Blow Out but I really love her presence and how her performance is far different from the one in Blow Out — SPLIT DIOPTER SHOTS GALORE — they were so many split diopter shots — Keith Gordon has a timeless nerd quality — I can see that type of geek exists in 2023. Also, read somewhere that he looks like Harry Potter in the Goblet of Fire— I like DePalma riffing on Hitchcock but including the explicit depictions of sex and violence, Hitchcock couldn't. The dream sequence in the shower would never happen in any of Hitchcock's classics— Michael Caine — is great in this and he's an actor who knows how to use his eyes with great effect — watch his final scene in the dark knight rises — it's incredible — After three films, part of me already wants to say that I am in the tank for DePalma! I haven't been lost in a movie in a while and this Body Double really took me for a ride — The criticisms of transphobia are warranted and I will not defend that aspect of the film — one could argue there is a brief positive depiction that is tangential to the film but interesting to see
