Tragic, gruesome, political, and philosophical. Ah, classic Sensei Kurosawa's cinema. A Japanese feudal adaptation of King Lear by William Shakespeare with an amazing cinematography. There's not a single bad shot in this movie. The costume & production design as well, it's all intertwined together and it's so beautiful. Tatsuya Nakadai's performance is impeccable as well. No notes for this film. Absulute fucking cinema.
