GoodFellas
Goodfellas is not just a great gangster movie, it’s one of the films that defines the genre. Martin Scorsese directs with total confidence, pulling you into this world and never letting you step outside of it. The pacing, the music, the movement of the camera, it all feels effortless but incredibly precise.
Ray Liotta gives the performance of his career as Henry Hill. He’s the heartbeat of the film. Without him, this doesn’t work. Joe Pesci is magnetic and terrifying at the same time. Every scene he’s in demands your attention. Robert De Niro brings a quiet, controlled intensity as Jimmy that balances everything perfectly. And Lorraine Bracco is fantastic, grounding the chaos with a performance that feels real and emotionally layered.
One of the greatest films ever made.
