Obsession
I'm not really a horror movie connoisseur, and I've never actually reviewed a movie before, but there's a first time for everything.
Man, oh man, Obsession is the type of movie that I can genuinely call horror. Not because it's filled with cheap CGI gore or because every scene is trying to outdo the last in terms of shock value. I've never really found that stuff scary. The real horror comes from the emotions, especially the raw and uncomfortable ones.
What I liked most is that the movie revolves around something a lot of people secretly wish for: having someone feel the exact same way about you as you feel about them. It's something we crave and yearn for without really thinking about the consequences of getting exactly what we asked for.
The movie takes that desire and twists it into something unsettling. It makes you realize that sometimes we're so focused on what we want that we forget to appreciate what's already in front of us. Sometimes all it takes is a little patience, living in the moment, and looking at things from a different perspective.
