This film had such a stronghold on people in my block growing up. Bené was like my idol lol, everybody wanted to be cool just like him. A true masterpiece about crime, poverty & the hard life in the Brazilian favelas, which makes it all the more heartbreaking when you know a significant part of the cast weren't paid what they deserved & are still struggling in those same streets. Easily one of my favorite films.

Apollonia's death is probably the demise of a film character that got me the most fucked up. Till this day. And he just moved back to his white bitch, like what???
