What can I say other than it’s an extremely fun, enjoyable, and well-made film. It’s shot by Greig Fraser, and we all know how good he is, so it’s no surprise that it looks visually stunning. As much as it is a cool "saving the world" space audiovisual spectacle, with an impeccable, euphoric score that adds a lot to the experience, the heartfelt, genuine, wholesome, and well-acted friendship between Grace and Rocky is just as compelling and engaging. It’s also a very naturally funny movie that got a few chuckles out of me. My biggest issue is the drawn-out ending. It starts to drag and feels like it had several opportunities to wrap things up, but kept going, as if it was afraid of leaving any ambiguity. I got a bit frustrated by the end. Good, entertaining, charming movie though. Worth seeing on the big screen. Refreshing to see Ryan Gosling in a good movie again. Been a while. And always glad to see something that isn't soulless slop. Heart-warming and fun.
