A Single Man
when he burnt the stuff by the end then That Happened i was so so fucking heartbroken WHAT'S THE POINT!!!! in my head i shake the writers' shoulders and demand answers, as if all events in the world inherently have Points within them, when in reality there are things that just... happen. most things simply aren't within our control. i'd say this demonstrates the importance of making the most of the things that are-- but i hate interpreting stories like this as simply examples that we can learn from, when there's so much more to this-- to George-- beyond being a mere example. George loved, and was loved, and gave so much meaning to the lives he touched. given this-- and i'm aware i'm taking it completely out of context-- i'm compelled to disagree with that quote he liked so much, about experience being what a man does with what happens to him. George, i'd like to give you more credit than that. anyway, i love this movie :) definitely among the BEST of Colin Firth's performances (TELEPHONE SCENE!!!!!!), and i think at this point i'm definitely qualified to make such a remark already xD
