Swing Kids
i was checking all the wars-related movies in my watchlist ta's eto 'yung natapos ko kasi andito si Kyungsoo T____T
one time, one of my favorite teachers from last year asked us, "why do wars happen?". our classmates had different answers, but sir said they were all 'too shallow', so in the end, si sir lang din ang sumagot sa tanong niya, "because they have an ideology they want to fight for." while only passively, i have not stopped wondering about the... philosophy... of war since.
i don't think the structure of this movie is anything we haven't seen before, pero siguro it's because this is the first of its kind na napanood ko now that i'm my 'current self', so it was effective in making me wonder more about— ayun nga, the philosophy of war thing. like, up to what extent is ideology worth fighting for? what's a 'right way' to fight for what you believe in? kailan tayo dapat gumawa ng mga bagay na mapapakinabangan ng mga taong gusto nating pagsilbihan, at kailan tayo may karapatang gumawa ng mga bagay na para lang sa sarili natin? stuff like that. maybe this is something i'll try to read up on once i have the energy.
also [SPOILER-ISH] . . . potaena ng ending neto gusto ko sana manood ng pelikula para matuwa ako at ma-distract from homesickness???? now i'm going to bed in tears. good night
