The Thing
“How do we make it out?”
“Maybe we shouldn’t.”

Incredible work, really. The camera angles are perfect and I don’t think there was a single boring shot in that entire movie. The SFXs were master class and only some moments had me thinking “that’s… plastic.”
The acting was phenomenal, the character writing was fantastic. I really truly believe those guys wanted to make it out alive. They tried their damn BEST to make it out and it was frustrating to see time and time again them missing the mark by only a hair.
The atmosphere was perfectly crafted to be paranoia inducing, I can feel myself being distrusting right along with Macready and Childs.
Some of the scenes were a bit humorous when I don’t think that was the intention, specifically the head scuttling away scene. Those small moments of unintentional humour do unfortunately take away from the atmosphere and horror that was created. But if the horror is accidentally destroyed a bit, the movie does take long to build it back up.
9.5/10, definitely can see why it’s a horror classic. Noals you should’ve been the final girl.
