I think it’s really neat that in a world that seems to be hurtling ever quicker at the convent equivalent of gruel that denis villeneuve gets given metric fuck tons of money to make movies that dare to ask questions of us and the world we occupy. ted chiang is one of my personal favorite authors and the central theme of his work (which, among other things, is the beauty found in futility) is quite evident in every inch of this movie.
