Prisoners

First of all, Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal give some of the best performances I have seen in my lifetime. The life each of them bring to their characters is wonderful. Ever since I watched both Dune movies, I have been interested in delving into earlier Villeneuve films and this is the one I chose to start with. And thank god for that. Prisoners, despite its long runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes captivated me completely throughout its entirety. The script doesn’t disappoint and neither does the score, cinematography and directing. A standout for me is undoubtedly one of the final scenes with Jake Gyllenhaal driving to the hospital in the rain. The cinematography is INSANE.
