Matthew McConaughey says "alright" in this film and it really irked me that he didn't say it another 2 times. I'm not religious, I never have been, although I don't necessarily rule out the possibility of a higher being. That being said, this movie has something very profound to say about the marriage between faith and science. It shows the very best of religion, as well as some of its darker sides. It's absolutely true that science and religion (at least the idealised versions of them) are seemingly opposing doctrines but are united in their pursuit of truth. Which only goes to show that with an open mind, they don't have to be opposing doctrines.
