Eternity

this movie really altered my perspective. the plot is captivating and the symbolism runs even deeper. its so emotional seeing joan even in the afterlife, caught between her past and present husbands. larry (her present husband) which represented the realistic side of love while luke embodies the idealized “what couldve been” version. when joan chose luke, she kept visiting the archives of her life with larry, showing how her bond with larry was inseparable from her memories. choosing luke wouldnt have been an act of genuine love but rather a moment driven by nostalgia and fantasy. as she ended up choosing larry after realizing that love isnt based on happy moments only but everything theyve been through together. i absolutely loved this movie, and it forsure deserves a rewatch.
