Gone Girl
“you think i’ll let him destroy me and end up happier than ever, no fucking way.”
gone girl isn’t just a thriller, it’s about how power is gained by having control over the narrative. what stood out to me the most is how the film keeps you wondering the whole time. you think you understand whats going on, then suddenly you dont. you end up believing whatever version is shown at the moment. amy is such a complex and intelligent character, shes always one step ahead. she builds a well calculated story for people to believe in order to frame her husband which gets stuck inside a story he didnt create. the ending isnt really a twist, its a result of a relationship sustained not by love and truth but by perception, where one controls the narrative and other lives it. this movie isnt just a thriller rather than a mix of all genres, such a masterpiece i loved it.
