You get the idea. This film masterfully explores the duality of human nature, a theme embodied by the terrifying "Tethered." The symbolism is pervasive and potent. The 11:11 motif, a clear nod to Jeremiah 11:11, foreshadows the impending doom and the merciless nature of the Tethered's revenge. Even the weapon of choice – scissors – speaks volumes. A seemingly mundane object, scissors become a symbol of both creation and destruction, mirroring the intertwined fates of the doubles. As a "whole made up of two parts," they perfectly represent the film's exploration of duality, existing in that unsettling space "between the mundane and the absolutely terrifying." Lupita Nyong'o delivers a tour-de-force performance, embodying both Adelaide and her doppelgänger with chilling precision. Her portrayal captures the complexity of the film's themes, leaving us to question who the real monsters truly are. Jordan Peele is just so good. He's always one step ahead, and you're just dying to see what he does next. Seriously smart, seriously well-crafted, and seriously fucking terrifying.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
