The Shining

My first Kubrick, already on to a good start. The uncomfortable and uneasy atmosphere created in this movie is excellent, it was almost as if the hotel was supposed to make Jack go insane, with all of it's patterns and how everything is identical. It creates an atmosphere where not only the characters but the audience too, feels trapped. To make it better is Jack Nicholson's amazing performance, you can see the anger in his eyes in every single scene he is in, even if he's smiling you can feel that he's angry or annoyed...until he snaps. The only problem I have with the movie is that some points aren't explained in the movie but it turns out that the book explains them, However, this movie uses that to it's advantage by making the atmosphere even more uneasy.
