About Time
**“There is this… one thing. Quick little walk. Totally against the rules of course but if we don’t change a thing, if we’re very careful, it shouldn’t do any harm. It would be nice.”

This movie isn’t just about love, it’s about cherishing every moment you have and knowing that time is valuable. Once a moment passes, it becomes a memory, a time to look back on, it can’t be changed nor destroyed. Hence we must enjoy every moment and hold on to every memory because it can’t be replicated; unless your name is Tim, or his dad, or his dad and etcetera.
I think the way Tim finds love is quite cheap because he fucks up many times with Mary and has to randomly enter this dark closet to get another chance, but it’s still beautiful. He could’ve done that with any girl but he chose Mary, simply because of the ‘night’ they had when they ‘first’ met (I use quotations because that night was erased by him but obviously he still remembers it). Then a couple ‘dark room/cupboard entries’ later, he begins to discover the consequences of time travelling and grows to understand he can’t live a happy life repeatedly changing every messed up thing that happens. I love this because it shows that life must be lived naturally in order to maintain happiness, especially with the wonderful things and wonderful people that surround us.
Due to the number of amazing takeaways from this film, I really enjoyed it as I was able to look past Tim and Mary’s love and resonate with other key aspects of the film. Although, their love is amazing and they’re so perfect for each other, even though Tim had to endure trial and error for a while; still beautiful. May this love find me (without all the funky time travelling).
