Platoon

95/100 "I think now, looking back, we did not fight the enemy; we fought ourselves. And the enemy was in us." Absolutely RIVETING; raw and powerful gives one of the most realistic views on wars I’ve ever seen, no glorification of anything. A lot of the American soldiers are the most unlikable characters I’ve ever seen, which to me adds a whole different layer, but on the contrary Willem Dafoe and Keith David are absolute fucking studs. Soul crushing and impossible to watch at times but to me that’s when I couldn’t look away, there’s a fine line between blood and horror that you don’t want to watch at all and blood horror that’s deeply riveting and important but Oliver stone found the sweet spot, near perfection from the kid.
