The Wailing

The Wailing excels at creating an unsettling atmosphere of some mystery going on in the town. The characters are interesting and the ending wraps ip the movie perfectly. During the first hours I felt constantly engaged yet than the movie loses some of its pace. Many scenes were repetitive while not adding anything major to the plot or character development that would justify its length. In the end, I had more questions than answers in mind, leaving a lot of interpretation. Overall, The Wailing is a well-crafted horror-movie with an interesting plot and ending, but its excessive runtime and repetitive actions hold the movie back. I will definitely check out other movies by Na Hong-jin.
