Absolutely gut wrenching film. This is the most well made film after One battle after another and sentimental value. This film is so emotionally strong, not to mention the acting performances. I can’t find a single flaw in this film. The fact that Paul mescal didint get an Oscar nomination and Benicio del toro did absolutely baffles me. I’ve learnt so much from this film, the direction cinematography, acting, musical scores, production design, costumes, everything is literally perfect. Personally, I liked sentimental value more, but this is no doubt a better film. If you take a look at my top 4, you would see that “romance tragedy” is not really my genre. But the fact that I’ve loved this movie so much, even though it’s not my genre speaks volumes about the film and its craft.
