Marvel Zombies
honestly pretty solid. nothing crazy but a pretty entertaining show (movie really). i liked the group of characters we followed. it’s not the first people i’d think of being together and i liked that. i wish they got a little crazier with the character mashups tho. like, pairing the most polar opposite people together more often would be fun. Jimmy Wu and Death Dealer being friends was fun for example and i wanted more like that. also, really dug the world building in this. there’s lots of factions and people who are completely different pre-apocalypse. Baron Zemo is a survivalist leader that people look up to and John Walker is his second in command. that’s so fun! the zombie action is fun and the gore is great, but every encounter ends with our heroes being saved by a third party and it got a little tedious. the ending was a little meh tho, as it wasn’t an ending at all. honestly i hate that, just end your thing satisfyingly while also leaving the door open for more. really my main thing with Marvel Zombies is that i wanted more. more world building, more interesting character meet-ups, more zombie shenanigans, more lore more everything. this universe they’ve built up is so cool and i want to just see everything it has to offer. but what we got was a surprisingly good time, even if the ending left a sour taste in my mouth. also, can we please abandon the What If animation. the backgrounds and environments in this show are too amazing for the character models to be so bad.
