First year without a Wicked release in theatre😢

Important and necessary story to tell, but not explored in the full depth it could have been. Including that Katie “bullied” him brings forth an unnecessary justification for his actions The officer expresses her distaste for how the narrative for cases of violence against women is often shifted to the perspective of the man. Yet, the whole show’s narrative is from the perspective of the murderer, his family, and how he was corrupted…almost as if we should sympathize with him; as if society has failed young men. The show critiques the “shift to male perspective” trap while simultaneously falling into it. This isn’t to say the male perspective shouldn’t be explored. The red pill community continues to expand and as such more men continue to blame their loneliness on women for choosing themselves. The negative influence of the manosphere is a root issue people should be aware of, and stopping violence against women does very much start at home. But the story of a murdered girl shouldn’t default to centering the murderer. Shouldn’t the real narrative be how we have failed young women…?
