are you a real movie fan if you don't spend longer picking one than watching it

another installment in curry's brick horror universe

really did not know how to feel about this each act is essentially it's own movie act 1 we're going through a whirlwind romance that hits the highs of the wolf of wall street and so clearly alludes to an eventual and probably violently abrupt comedown act 2 our manchild co-protagonist disappears and we have a safdie style one night wild goose chase act 3 everything comes predictably crumbling down i wasnt super convinced Ani felt like a real person in her own movie tho, her motivations were just not all there. idk it felt a bit weird, especially the whole nice guy thing the tone shift was too nuts between the whole film and the last 20 minutes, i would've wanted a shorter cat and mouse sequence and to actually flesh out that last part, actually explore her character more than 'i love this rich guy for some reason'. I get that she was clinging to the fantasy because it meant escaping her circumstances, and that she broke down with igor because she didn't know what to do with genuine kindness, but let us get to know her more and it'd actually feel more like desperation rather than silly decisions from a character you made out to be smart tldr i had fun and it's clearly well-made but idk if I really felt the message or think it was put across in the best way

just 2 hours of anti public transport propaganda

dale really turned into prime neiman at the end there
