An overlong, dour Christ analogue that ends with a bunch of Bayformers action that's the equivalent of a child smashing 2 action figures against each other. The symbol of hope? More like the symbol of being a mardy shit. To look back from what we have now, in the maybe too good chemistry between Brosnahan and Corenswet, the anti chemistry that Cavill and Adams share is hard to watch. This film might've done irreparable damage to the PR of Superman that it's taken over a decade to course correct, hate to see my goat go through times like this. But it does put into perspective just how much Superman (2025) got right. Michael Shannon is great though, at his scenery chewing best and the scene with Lois escaping the ship with Russel Crowe is also pretty good.
