A Clockwork Orange
I almost quit this movie, the beginning was so boring and repetitive that i genuinely thought it wasn't for me. but somehow it worked. by the end i was fully locked in.
What stayed with me isn't the violence but the idea of choice. alex is clearly awful but once they take away his ability to choose, he stops being human. the experiment didn't "fix" him,it just turned him into something empty.
and honestly everyone else felt worse, the government, the scientists, even the people who claimed to be moral all cared about their own benefit and didn't hesitate to use him. they talk about evil like it's something outside of them, when in reality it's in everyone.
slow, uncomfortable ,confusing at first but once it clicks it REALLY clicks.
