Moonlight
after watching Martyrs, i wanted something lighter to watch because that shit fucked me up badly, after browsing for like 20 minutes, i decided to watch Moonlight, why the fuck did i watch this, im more fucked up than i was after watching Martyrs, i love horror, i love disturbing shit, but this fucks me up more than most of the actual fucked up shit i watch, one of the closest times ive gotten to crying from watching a movie, it tackles so many themes and executes them flawlessly, its crazy how A24 can put out films like this, and then go release other bullshit, the performances are so precise and fragile, the score, the BEAUTIFUL cinematography, from a technical standpoint its nearly flawless
all 3 chapters are very distinct and unique, they make you want to cry, feel frustrated, upset, vulnerable, but when it finally wraps up its euphoric, every line of dialogue during Black's chapter hits so hard, you feel like you're actually engaged in the conversation they're having, i haven't watched a film that feels so lived in, how every character is nuanced in their own way is something really special, i can't give it a perfect 10/10, i feel as if i have a few unanswered questions that will probably get resolved on a rewatch, i cant stop thinking about it, movies like this make me want to ONLY watch movies i love, this is why WE watch movies, absolute masterpiece
