' I drive. ' I swore I wouldn't fall for the film bro propaganda but oh my god this film is so close to going in my top 4. It was so so perfect. That nightcall needle drop gave me chills. I'm pretty sure this was the first neo-noir I've watched but it makes me want to watch a million more. I loved Ryan Goslings performance in this and the mysteriousness of driver, it was so so perfect. the whole synth soundtrack has my heart, and the cinematography and stylisation is so distinct and refined. I really want to write an analysis on my thoughts of driver as a character because this film has so much to say about it and I wish I'd given it a chance much sooner. my only gripe is I wanted more of the dark and neon lighting but its not really a complaint, the film was perfect as is.
