"هرگز از داستان خود دست نکشید، در غم، اشتیاق، تنهایی به جلو حرکت کنید. یاد بگیرید، قوی تر شوید، مهربان تر شوید."

No words can ever really sum up all of the various layers of this movie. When I read the book I really was drawn to the allegory that the different animals were the different religions in pi’s life and that Richard Parker was a symbol for gods indifference. Richard Parker is cold and brutal and animalistic and much like the nature around us, morality does not concern him. I always found that explanation as comforting, and that’s the one I felt was most present in the book. With the movie, it definitely feels less like a spiritual exploration and instead more of an exploration of pi’s humanity. He endures great difficulty and hope is certainly a strong theme, but I think the even more powerful message is this idea that in order to survive, pi had to sacrifice his morals and succumb to his instinctual violence. Richard Parker leaving without saying goodbye is pi’s violent survival instincts leaving him when they serve him no more use. There is endless ways to view this movie and it is amazing. And really the message that life is at its core about learning to let go is poignant but it rings extremely true.

British guy fucks up african embassies and terrorises Eastern European countries but he’s lowkey cold so I’ll let it slide🔥

Probably the most uncomfortable watch of all time. Extremely fascinating plot with both Mads’ character and the rest of the danish community with very valid perspectives. The development and unfolding of the situation is paved perfectly and it definitely feels like a real situation. Despite how good it was, it was genuinely a horrifying experience to watch this and mads mikkelsens cute face was what managed to push me through it

It’s alright I guess… Sign me up as the apostate that just doesn't appreciate this one, that doesn't really understand why a long, rambling, sleepy movie about a disconnected, disaffected, insanely rich and privileged teenager moping around until he gets laid is so moving to people. There are better romances, better gay coming-of-age movies, better summer-fling stories, and movies where I don't get really really distracted by watching a dude gut a peach in his bed with his bare hands and then fuck it, making an immense mess for someone else to clean up. I will fight the world on this one. of course it’s shot beautifully also elio is a different type of horndog
