Absolutely heart breaking, soul shattering, and tear jerking. These kind of struggles that women have faced are ignored and almost never taken seriously, whilst here we have it finally portrayed with the full gravity of how devastating prostitution gets and where it leads to. What I admire about this film is how different it is and the raw depiction of abandonment and familial relationships and heck relationships in general, it was all just raw. The relationship between Lilya and Volodya was tragic and sincere with pure platonic bonding while everything around them was fucked they were the only ones to bring light and comfort to the other even if it was temporary. That near final scene with Lilya finally being free but not knowing where to go because she has absolutely nobody to turn to and her situation is genuinely so fucked she had to resort to suicide… Oh my god.. This film takes the hat to how much i’ve ever cried before at one, *I CRIED 4 TIMES BRUH *
