Lost and Found
the tension build up during the last 5 minutes of this movie was insane and i finished with tears in my eyes
let’s rewind- right off the bat, the aesthetics of this movie pulled me in and i visually loved every second of it. when the story first began with the quest to find ted and Lam discovering her journey in leukemia, it really touched into the deeper meaning of finding out who you are as a person. the more we go on with the story, Mr. Worm is a perfect example of someone who can teach a dying man how to fly. “nothing is truly lost if you have the courage to find it” and that line stuck hard.
i also admire ted for being the reality check for lam on her true feelings for mr. worm, even though he had feelings for her himself.
lam throughout the movie believes how the “ends of the world” is scotland is something so beautiful that it’s romanticized as an escape from the reality of her leukemia on how ted ends up being the “lost” person she’s looking for, as it continues to push her closer to this fantasy.
ending off strong, whenever she arrives in scotland she realizes how this is a fantasy and seeing mr. worm again brings her closer to herself. beautiful and very underrated flim
