I was looking forward to watching this and was happy it exceeded my expectations. Kristen Stewart was incredible, she really stepped it up here. I enjoyed the surreal moments, and the long takes contributed to putting the audience in Diana’s shoes. I also admired the more fictional “fable” take of this, mixed with very real moments like talking with her children. You can tell there was a natural chemistry and friendship there that made it special. There’s not a whole lot to this film, it’s pretty straightforward, and I enjoyed that. Some might see the main themes as too bold or even obnoxious, but I think it’s a great honest perspective. One of my favorites of the year for sure.
