Hereditary

Didn't know i could be this terrified of tongue clicks, also i hated that condescending-ass teacher at the beginning ———Review——— I was shitting bricks for this entire damn movie. I highly recommend watching this. It's nice to see a horror film that's actually scary. So many modern horror movies just feel like forgettable jumpscare simulators. Hereditary is incredibly creative with its storytelling with scenes like; Peter reliving Charlie's death through the rearview mirror during class. The dream-within-a-dream sequence that was amazing and genuinely unsettling. The séance/medium scene going wrong and Charlie's spirit entering Annie (also really creepy). There are many shots where it feels like you're observing the characters rather than living alongside them. The opening shot pushing into the miniature house sets that theme well. Also, the amount of foreshadowing and tiny details scattered throughout the film is very impressive. Annie's screams from outside after discovering Charlie are absolutely harrowing. That entire sequence made me shiver. I literally jumped out of my seat when Annie was driving home from Joan's house after the whole spirit shabang and i heard Charlie's tongue click. In conclusion: MASTERPIECE.
