———Spoilers/Review———
I liked the intro. Very cool and unique.
I like Mads, but i definitely wouldn't want Tonny as a friend. He was such a nuisance. I guess he helped the cops out too.
The vibe of the movie just didn't work for me. Too grimy. Too in your face. Too depressing. But i can see why someone would love it.
The movie is in Danish, and i don't understand Danish. I turned on subtitles, and half the lines in some scenes weren't even translated.
The interrogation scene was unintentionally pretty damn funny. The police officer throwing candy at Frank's face while doing a comically large frown made me laugh.
The movie just kept getting darker and darker. Like when the addict they had been pestering for the 50k he owed Frank decided to shoot himself.
Fortunately, it also became more and more interesting.
The first 30 minutes did nothing for me, it was mostly just two guys yapping and being annoying. But once the drug deal went wrong, things picked up. Watching Frank desperately try to get the money he owed was tense and entertaining.
The movie ends on a huge cliffhanger. Weirdly enough, the feeling i had when the credits rolled wasn't anticipation for Pusher II and III, but relief that it was finally over.
I want to say this film was mid, but that would feel like a hate crime, so instead I'll just say...
**
In conclusion: GOOD.
