Silenced
Cinema holds the power to change the society. And silenced is one of them.
Based on the true events situated in a hearing impaired school of deaf children. Where deaf children were sexually abused for years. After the film was released, it created a massive outrage in public forcing to re-open the case.
Some films not only make you feel the brutality of the world but also touched the essence of how unfair our judiciary system is. No amount of evidence, victim’s statement can be justified if the system itself is rotten.
Silenced made me realised that how much suffering the disabled children endure. They can’t talk, they can’t share their feelings. I hope we create a better space for them. For everyone.
The ending is…. Silenced. Like a mist of windy air in the melancholic weather.
After the chaos and rage in Korea, the school was permanently shut down. And a new rule passed — “Dogani Law” the silenced law, which abolished the rule of limitations for sex crimes against disabled women and minors under 13.
