"You know why this is my favorite tree? 'Cause it's tipped over, and it's still growing." this movie WILL leave you speechless and heartbroken. I think it is one of the best portrayals of childhood out there. I am always a fan of A24 films and this one is one of my favorites. The way they edited it truly gives it that childhood filter and makes it so much more impactful.

had to see it in the theatre again because it is truly an experience

as a competition dancer, i thought it was spot on for the first half, and then felt a bit cheesy toward the end with the solo. overall though, it was a super sweet film with amazing actors and i thought it did a great job of capturing loss which can be very hard to do! throughout the movie i felt like the dynamic between the father and daughter was really accurate giving she hadn’t seen him in a while, to the realizing she is his daughter in real life!! they had such good connection toward the end as well and i enjoyed the movie!
