*pixar marathon (28/30) ***| inside out 2, 2024.** i was really, **REALLY **close to rating this higher than the first film. there are some stuff that are really good about this film. it's great at balancing **riley's life, the original emotions, **and **the puberty emotion's **plotlines in it's 86-minute runtime. the first film failed in this aspect. i mean, **riley IS the main character,** *so why was she so ***underdeveloped ***and why did she get so **little screen time? *all of the characters get enough screen time to really shine, especially when the film has to juggle o many of them. it's also a **really good sequel. **it's main plotline is the same: *"oh no the emotions are lost," ***but it doesn't feel repetitive or tiring. **why? **because it has enough new creative ideas to make it entertaining and fresh. **it isn't a **standalone sequel, ***but rather a continuation of the first film and its ideas.* now all things said, **it isn't perfect. **there's plenty of issues with the dialogue, such as the fact that every moment feels so packed with lines and fast paced, where to the point the slow scenes don't feel subtle in the slightest. but it serves as a **fun, exciting, **and **emotional continuation of the first film.** ***7***
