Watching Empire Records felt very close to me It is not just a movie about a music store it is about a group of quiet awkward nerds who are just trying to get through one long day without losing who they are They are not cool in a normal way and that is what makes them special They feel lost emotional shy and real They love music deeply and care about each other and about a place that feels like home to them As a nerd myself I did not just watch them I saw myself in them The thinking too much the silence the feeling of not fitting anywhere.
