everyone needs to watch this incredible deep dive into the monster that is bear. so so good and i’m about to do a half ass job at summing it up. the “nice guy”/“people pleaser” is one of the most dangerous villains because of the completely selfish and manipulative behaviors they are capable of in order to be accepted and loved in their communities. these people are capable of throwing all ethics and morals out the window if it means that people will like them for it. they will do whatever it takes to not be an outsider. bear is able to knowingly do this for a surface level crush he is only interested in pursuing for the sake of climbing an invisible social ladder. bear only cares for nikki because of how being with nikki would make him look to everyone else. uses her for his own manipulative design and continues to selfishly fuck himself into his own ruin. it isn’t even until the moment ‘nikki’ threatens bear’s social standing that he actually feels the need to fix his fuck ups. AND EVEN WHEN HE DOES, HE’S NOT EVEN ACTUALLY THINKING OF NIKKI’S WISHES OR WHAT HE’S LEAVING HER WITH. anyway, this was fucking great. just wow.
