Pariah

I cannot believe I had never even heard of this movie this is one of the greatest I’ve ever seen allow me to make a few points for those of you who have not seen it: - it deals with queerness, identity, and intersectionality super well - it has an insane amount of heart, it’s compassionate even to the antagonists of the film - it doesn’t drag on unnecessarily! a lot of my favorite film snob movies drag on and on in order to show development, but this movie manages to be under 90mins AND there’s development  - the main character is genuinely likable and relatable, Alike accomplishes what every coming of age character should be seeking to accomplish: relatability & flaws - the family dynamics feel very genuine, I especially felt the sibling dynamic was authentic as hell
