The Hunt
This movie incapsulates the affect that one lie can have on a community, and the evils that can be committed and bonds broken because of a lie.
Another idea that the movie exspresses is the indomidable nature of the human spirit in the face of adversity and complete alienation.
This movie is incredibly sad and dark, so if you don’t want to feel at least a little sad after watching a movie, I would not suggest this one. I will say though this movie has some of the most emotionally impactful acting and scenes I’ve seen in a minute, which is made more impressive by the fact that this movie is, for 99% of the movie, in Dutch.
Mads Mikkelsen’s performance alone is worth watching the movie for, but a surprisingly compelling cast elivates this movie from good to great. One of the biggest suprises came from the son of the main character Lucas, who potrays the love and care of a son incredibly well. Overall, each character is potrayed as incredibly human, which makes this movie so great.
I highly recommend this film if you can stand the dark topics it covers, for both the performances of the cast and the humaninty that can be found in each of the charicters.
