Aligarh
This film completely changed the way I look at homosexuality. Hansal Mehta does not want to win the audience by loud arguments or theatrics...rather he wants the audience to spend time with professor Siras.....Manoj Bajpayee's potrayal as professor Siras is just out of this world...you don't feel for a single second that you are watching Manoj Bajpayee...it's like this person exists in real life....the amount of restraint Manoj carries in this film is just incredible....easily one of the best performances in Indian cinema history. Especially the way he potrays silence in this film is so masterful....the way he avoids eye contacts...the way he pauses before speaking.....and even his body language. He completely disappears into the character. He says so little in this film still you exactly know how he feels and that is an incredibly difficult skill and Bajapayee makes it look effortless. Rajkummar Rao delivers an extraordinary performance alongside Bajpayee and never gets overshadowed by him throughout the film. Won't talk about the climax because still can't get over it.....
