Val Kilmer as a passenger through the native Souix reservation, phenomenal. Kilmer going through visions and his voyage “through” Thunderheart, eh. Overall a good film and Graham Greene is phenomenal here, best performance here for me.

Gregory Widen, the screenwriter, and his personal connection to this film serving as a firefighter for three years and witnessing a death to backdraft a nice layer to the mix. It’s just, could Donald Sutherlands’s character be any more of an Hannibal Lector clone.

It’s fine, too historically unfaithful, but it’s a fine movie. The rewatch didn’t hold up nearly as well as the first but this time period on the big screen will always be good enough for me.

Yeah it may be a bit all over the place at times but honestly what Robin Hood interpretation hasn’t been. Think I I chose the right diving board for Abel Ferrara and looking through the rest of his filmography has me excited. Walken is arguably at his best here and Ferrara’s ability to create the atmosphere of the 90s gangster, crime esthetic really pulls everything together. Honestly, I think Walken flows in and out of Bugs Bunny here and it matches perfectly. I could definitely see B. B. getting down to Schoolly D.
