WandaVision
There’s a lot to admire about this. First and foremost, the filmmaking and overall presentation is unique and very much outside of what marvel has done. I love the sets and attention to detail of each decade (60-70s are my favorites). The show is also well written and has a lot of genuinely funny moments. Wanda and Vision are quickly becoming my favorites in the mcu. As the show keeps going we get to learn more about Wanda and deal with her trauma and multiple tragedies. It’s very sincere and honest with what is has to say about dealing with loss and how it affects our very complicated protagonist. Basically everything within Wanda’s world in Westview is simply marvelous and is easily the best thing Marvel has made since Daredevil. The downfall is everything outside of WestView. For every creative decision made, we come back to the usual metatextual wink wink type of dialogue, boring exposition, and the need to explain what is going on every single time. Sadly as the show comes to end, it slowly goes back to the usual marvel stuff we come to expect. Which is a shame because I (for the most part) am getting tired of Marvel movies and this show had the potential to be so much more then that. If this is what to expect, then I’ll take this over a typical marvel movie.
