The Lion King
I cannot believe I’m reviewing this let alone rating it but I’ve had so much to say for so long now about this movie. I went in happily watching it because I absolutely love Donald Glover and am happy to support anything he does. With that being said, I’m not a Disney fan. I don’t think I ever have been, either. My parents never pushed it on us as kids. Sure, that’s a fault going into this movie. But I’m an adult now, I knew I could view this movie differently. Now, I actually remembered most of the original Lion King because I’m not dumb, right? So I could easily compare the two. And boy. This one was awful. I feel so bad for the actual hardcore Disney fans who were probably excited. The CGI was good..to and extent? The animations weren’t expressive at all and I felt zero emotion from the animals. This all sounds so silly and mundane but it’s true. When you have to rely on the CGI to give emotion and they don’t..then what was even the point?
