Boyhood
this is just one of those movie where nothing and everything happens(a common theme in Linklater films along with perfect soundtrack). We get to see 12 years of mason growing up but nothing extraordinary happens, its just life, moments most people go through during their teenage years: first beer, first kiss, first girlfriend, first breakup, moving out, experimenting with your look, going through different phases and so on, which might make it the most universal film for growing up because everyone will find something that they will be able to relate to.I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying its boring but i don't even think its possible cause with 12 years of life how much can you show in less than 3 hours, the moments that are shown are the key moments of mason’s life or as it seems many people lives. I also feel that its one of these movies that your perspective on changes with aging. as you get older it will only get sadder because of the nostalgia and just realising how fast time passes by, but with age you can also look at it from different perspective. i imagine a parent watching it will focus on completely different things than a younger person will, so it may be nice to come back to it later on to see if what i wrote makes any sense.
