Heat

Perfectly meticulous. What a phenomenal movie. There’s nothing quite like a story where both the cat and the mouse are professionals and masters at what they do. To make it even more special, both the cat and the mouse are played by two of the greatest actors to ever live. And they both deliver. It really scratched my “overworked and haunted detective carrying the moral weight of society home to his smokeshow wife who wishes he was around more” itch. I see that in my future. It sits at the intersection of three things I find most endearing in stories: competence, purpose, and passion. Most of my favorite movies have some combination of these. Heat may soon join them.
