I realized I forgot to log this in when I first watched it. I recently saw it again and wow… the film is still incredible. I cried, of course but the film was almost calming to me?  Trace Lysette is fucking phenomenal here. Absolutely a masterclass on subtle acting. In a perfect world, she would be nominated for an Oscar. Right now, we should be discoursing about her being snubbed actually.  That one shot where Monica puts on makeup on her mother and we see her mother’s reflection on her face. What a marvelous shot that says so much. The whole film is filled with moments and shots like that. I LOVED the cinematography.  Tell more trans stories. Give trans people the roles and the opportunities.
