> john wick in space it's genuinely just sexism that stunted this movie. gillespie doesn't give a fuck about his female characters and its blatantly obvious. this movie had so much potential and molly alcock did a fantastic job with what she was given but it's just disheartening to see such an accredited director completely fuck up a great character like supergirl there being more shots of the men abusing the brides than of the brides being free and getting redemption really rubbed me the wrong way. with superman at least there were clear messages: hope, immigration, fitting in, choosing to be a good person. this movie? none. this is a female superhero in the modern day and age, and you couldn't come up with ONE feminist message?? you could've used the brides and turned it into a female solidarity, freedom & equality for all, protect women type thing, but you just used the brides as a plot point whenever you felt like it just to move the plot along. they had no real purpose and were literally just used as objects, by the characters in the film and by the filmmakers. why is THAT your message in a girl superhero movie??? i paid 20 fucking dollars for my imax tickets and there were almost no actual superhero scenes. she puts on the suit for 5 minutes at the end and there were only two actual real "that's a fucking superhero" cinematic shots with her in the suit looking awesome. like come on bro it's a superhero movie make her a fuckin superhero the "you can't have revenge, it'll just make you a worse person" plot line is so tired and overdone at this point, it's never done well and everyone is too fed up with it to actually see it as a good message anymore. be fucking original please i feel like this movie was made to be clipped for tiktok... idk is anyone else getting that feeling. it felt like everything (aside from like 2 or 3 monologues) was happening in 30 second clips, like it was moving from one thing to the next to the next to the next very fast with no real cohesion. it feels like it was catered towards short form media and the declining attention span everyone has nowadays. that is absolutely not something you should be doing if you're a big director with a huge film, don't cater to bullshit audience wants like that it reeks of disney also why does every foreigner in a film have to have a british accent can we please start casting anyone else - is there something racist and classist about the good characters having british/american accents (countries that are majority white) and the bad guys having rougher european accents, like eastern european/balkan/arab (countries majority either "bad" white people or people of color) ones? also plot hole: don't ALL of the bad guys carry the antidote?? she didn't have to go chasing after krem this whole time, she could've gotten the antidote from literally any of the other ones tldr: dialogue was weak, plot was weak, milly alcock saved the day, and please someone shut that stupid little bitchass kid up
