John Wick: Chapter 4

🏆 | Favorites | John Wick Ranked I have FINALLY gotten to watch this after getting peacock and It was so good. I love this franchise and this world that it has created. I haven’t seen the previous 3 in a while so certain things I forgot of the mythology and lore of the world but it quickly came back to me. The idea of the high table and the marquis, even though he was just a big bad, its so fun to think about the deeper lore of this franchise. The cinematography is absolutely amazing, I want to rewatch this movie when my 4k tv is hooked up again because my IPad can’t handle this incredible lighting. The action is obviously amazing but the one thing that really stood out was the long take as the climax before the climax and before the final climax. That long take blew my mind and the top down view was absolutely perfect. The characters are also easily the best in the franchise, even Mr. Nobody has certain traits that you can appreciate. Donnie Yen is also amazing and provides such a great dynamic between him and john that provides great emotional weight.  I don’t usually love just straight up action movies like I used to when I was a child but this is an absolute spectacle and such and amazing finale to a final 4. One of my favorite action movies ever, and one of the best films of the decade easily.
